We would like to let you know that the planning committee for the Fairbanks Folk Festival has made a couple of changes regarding our vendors at the Festival this year.
First: Please note that the Vendor Application is due much earlier this year. The application is due by Friday, May 3rd, for the 2019 Summer Folk Fest. This is a change from the week-before-the-festival deadline which we have had previously. We apologize if this causes you any inconvenience, but it is necessary due to another change we have made.
Second: Please be aware that the application is now truly an application. In previous years the application has been more of a registration, with the vendor reserving a space simply by submitting the required form. However, this is no longer the case. The planning committee has realized that it is necessary to review for approval every application on an individual basis. This means there is a small chance we will need to decline your application. We want to do our best to ensure that your products and services are unique to other vendors so you have a successful day at our event. We will notify you no later than 11:59pm on May 15th regarding your status as a vendor for the 2019 Summer Folk Fest. (Preference will be given to vendors who have vended with us before).
Third: Vehicles will not be allowed to drive on the field any later than 11:00 am. If you need to drive a vehicle onto the field for any reason, whether for set-up or ongoing operation,it must be before 11am. If you attempt to drive a vehicle on the fields after 11am, you will be told to stop and possibly turned away and not allowed to vend at the Festival. We have needed to make this change to ensure the safety of Festival attendees. Festival attendees frequently show up before the Festival starts to claim their spot on the field, and vehicles driving on the fields after members of the community are already there has become a huge safety concern.
Thank you for taking note of these changes. Please understand that they are made with the best of intentions for us all to have a successful, safe and fun-filled day!
